A man was killed and 6 firefighters injured after an apartment caught fire on the 50th floor of Trump Tower in New York on Saturday. The victim, Todd Brassner, was found unconscious in his apartment and was pronounced dead in the hospital.

The 67-year-old was an trader. Officials didn't immediately release information about the reason behind the fireplace. Donald Trump, who has an office and personal residence within the Manhattan premises, his wife Melania and son Barron weren't within the building at the time.
Brassner, who sold variety of Warhol prints, is mentioned several times within the artist’s autobiography. Fire sprinklers weren't required in the New York City when Trump Tower was completed in 1983. About 200 firefighters were on work to stop the fire. Video on social media showed flames outside some windows and black smoke blowing up from the building.

The New York department of local government closed 5th Avenue between West 55th Street, West 57th Street, and West 56th Street between Madison Avenue and 5th Avenue.
Lalitha Masson,  said she had “a very, very terrifying experience”, telling the New York Times that she didn't receive any announcement about leaving and when she called the front desk nobody answered.
