Armenian PM Suspends Army Chief For Violating Corona Virus Restrictions

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has suspended the country's army chief, police chief and head of the National Security Council for violating sanctions in the wake of the Corona epidemic.

According to the news agency, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called on Army Chief, Police Chief and National Security chief has announced his suspension.

In his statement, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not give a clear reason for the suspension of the Chief of Army Staff. Earlier, a video was shared in an online newspaper in Armenia detailing a ceremony at the army chief's house, when a line of guest cars lined up outside the house to attend the ceremony. That the participants did not even take precautions.

Speaking to local media, Army Chief said that the simple ceremony of his son's wedding was held at home in which other officials were also present but no restrictions were violated in the ceremony. A house party is a private affair. It should be noted that there are 13,325 corona patients in Armenia while 211 deaths have occurred, after which the country has been locked down for a month.
